Taking a new approach to textiles, the design firm LAYER just reviled their knitted tent chair. With a focus on smart materials, they used a brand new 3-D knitted chair. It only took 2 years to develop and 20 prototypes to perfect the overall design. The chair is both suitable for indoor and outdoor environments, allowing water and air to pass through with its breathable technology. It forms to the body perfectly and is lightweight, providing the perfect amount of comfort and support. Only a single production process is required, making it way more efficient by using digital knitting technology. The chair is made up of more than 2 million loops and 50,000 meters of yarn that form a single piece. The Tent Chair is available in 6 colorways.
