Color Of The Week: Cerulean

Every year, Pantone announces The Color Of The Year. Derived from an annual, top-secret meeting of color experts from around the world, this year (for the first time in history), two colors were chosen as the 2016 Pantone Color Of The Year. The Winners: Rose Quartz and Serenity.

This week we decided to give you our take on the soothing hue

with Serenity's close relative: Cerulean.

Cerulean is a positively soothing hue and in 2016 it is greatly appreciated. As a non-gender conforming color this hue can be found in all aspects of fashion and beauty. We are excited to see the Cerulean and Serenity hues pop into stores this year.

When this color came up we couldn't help but to think of this epic scene from one of our favorite films: The Devil Wears Prada.

In case you missed it, here are Pantone's 2016 Colors Of The Year.

"In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumer's increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage."
