A Trip to Descanso Gardens

We love adventures, don't you? We decided to take a lovely trip to the Descanso Gardens. It was here that we realized how much we have been missing! The gardens give you an opportunity to really focus on the plants. With nothing else to distract you, you start to realize just how many varieties of flowers, trees, and other plants there really are (and this was just in this one garden). As we walked through the garden we started making comparisons that we saw between particular fauna and some of our favorite textiles. Our imagination continued to run wild as we began to make color palettes of what we were finding around us. Scroll down to see how we were inspired to inspire you.

This tree caught our eye as we walked up one of the many trails of Descanso. It could have been the time of day, but the leaves of this tree seemed to give off a glowing aurora. Menswear can be just as alluring as this tree, displaying the colors of the crisp blue sky, the auburn color on the leaves, and if you look closely the hint hue of pink.

At the Descanso Gardens colors were all around us, we just couldn't take our eyes off is the Emerald 'N' Gold Euonymus shrub, its radiant colors were mesmerizing. If you look deep into this fiery shrub, you will not only find yellow, but glimpses of mustard, green, olive green, and the brown.

Have you ever heard of the phrase, "Don't forget to stop and smell the roses?" well, that's exactly what we did. Though all three of the roses bloomed from the same branch, each one produced its own unique colors. Peaches and pinks married beautifully to create a wonderfully sweet accent to the stability of greens.

Stop postponing your living room upgrade and just do-it-yourself. Check out this color palette we grabbed from these blooming flowers found in the Descanso Garden, well not literally, but our camera lens did. The burgundy, green, nude, and yellow-green colors make for a beautiful interior design option.

Hidden at the top of the hill, framing the Art Gallery were perfectly manicured Queen Desert Plants. The neutral colored stones meshed with the desert plants created a unique take on your typical neutral.
